Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in Roanoke, VA
Sometimes therapy is enough. Sometimes medication may be a helpful part of treatment. And sometimes the best approach includes both.
Our psychiatric services include psychiatric evaluation and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults.
Our board-certified, child and adolescent psychiatrist has experience supporting children and families affected by trauma, attachment challenges, neurodivergence, mental health disorders, and substance use.
Psychiatric care is individualized and collaborative, with the goal of helping clients and families better understand their symptoms and identify appropriate treatment options.

When Therapy & Psychiatry Work Together
Mental health isn't one-dimensional, and treatment doesn't have to be either.
At Mindful Mountain Wellness Center, therapy and psychiatry can work together when clinically appropriate. Therapy may focus on emotional regulation, relationships, trauma, coping skills, and behavior, while psychiatric care can address symptoms that may benefit from medication or further diagnostic evaluation.
When both services are appropriate, coordination between providers can help create a more connected treatment experience for the client and family.
Our goal isn't to put you in a particular treatment category.
Our goal is to understand what you need and help you find the right support.
Support for the Whole Family
When one member of a family is struggling, the whole family can feel the impact.
We work with parents and caregivers to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and develop practical skills for navigating challenging behaviors and emotional needs.
Our services include family support and caregiver skills coaching, as well as specialized support for families affected by adoption, foster care, trauma, and complex behavioral or emotional needs.
